Like a snake-headed crocus

snake-headed crocus

Like a snake-headed crocus
Feelings for spring push through your darkened chest
Intense and sore.

For other people, trumpets sing,
Or, like all year round, grass grows over the grave.

No white-haired snowdrops this year
But maybe a second innocence
And the nervous warming of the air.
